Steve Blackwood, actor and singer, is one of the most talented and uplifting talents of today. He has performed at events across the country and is as comfortable with a small trio as he is with a 10 piece orchestra. He has even performed solo for his home team, the Los Angeles Lakers (National Anthem), but it is the rapport with his audiences that he loves most. He offers up a rat pack style that has terrific appeal to audiences of all ages.

Steve, originally from Detroit, started his singing career in New York City as a lead singer for The Business Of Blues, opening for artists like Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. His swing/jazz sound is a mix of Dixieland and Mose Allison. He harkens back to the days of great singers like Sinatra while performing the Standards.

An accomplished actor (2001 Matilda Award/Lifetime Achievement) many will know Steve as the Baddie Bart on NBC’s Days Of Our Lives - a character he played from 1997 to 2007. He has also guest starred on numerous television shows, and had a lead role in the feature film Ed Gein. Musically he was seen singing “Honeysuckle Rose” on NBC, performing his original “Care To Love” on the Soap Network, and has made singing appearances on many networks. The Sinatra documentary “The Very Good Tears” features Steve in a recording studio singing a Sinatra tribute.

Steve Blackwood is a National Recording Artist whose discs include:
I DON’T WORRY BOUT A THING (Pat Boone’s Gold Label)
JAZZ BABY (Casablanca Records/NY) - a children’s celebrity compilation with Dr. John and the late Billy Preston.

Since returning to Michigan in 2009, Steve has shot four films in Detroit (Machine Gun Preacher, Cedar Rapids, Mooz-lum, Oogieloves). He has appeared in the Wilde Award winning Boeing Boeing at Meadow Brook Theatre in 2010 (Andes/Best Actor).
